Highlights Edit

After two months at sea on the morning of December 5th Sea Shepherd was introduced to ICR's new security ship Kaiyo Maru no. 7 which has replaced the Shonan Maru No. 2 which got impounded by the Russians. Yushin Maru also found.

On December 23rd the Steve Irwin engaged the Yushin Maru No. 3 in battle. Ocean Warrior finds Yushin Maru and Kaiyo Maru No.7.

New Years Day Kaiyo Maru no. 7 changes course.

On January 17th Nisshin Maru is found at last with a dead whale on deck Yushin Maru is also found.

January 19 to 22 severe storms ground the helicopter and drones Nisshin Maru escapes once again.

February 23, 2017 The Steve Irwin docks in New Zealand ending Operation Nemasis.

March 9, 2017 Ocean Warrior docks in Perth ending Operation Nemasis. ICR calls off the hunt.

On March 31, 2017 Nisshin Maru docked in Tokyo. For the second time in years the Japanese boasted about their success of meeting their quota. For the second time in two years Sea Shepherd has failed and the Japanese Whalers have met their quota of 333 whales. Admiral Paul Watson vows to strengthen Neptune's Navy for next year's campaign and this time we will shutdown the Japanese Whalers for good.
